William Kennedy

William Kennedy will take part in the course offered at Yaşar University as the course trainer. He is originally from Victoria, Canada, but is now based in Amman, Jordan, where he is a teacher, trainer, and consultant. He has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of British Columbia and Master of Arts in TESOL from the School for International Training. He has been in ELT for more than 30 years and has been an SIT/World Learning teacher trainer since 2003. In that time, William has taught and trained in more than 20 countries, including Japan, Korea, China, Georgia, Morocco, Algeria, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Most recently, he was an English Language Fellow for the US State Department, working with teachers, professionals, and activists in Brazil, India, and Azerbaijan.  His professional interests include reflective practice, teacher education, and media literacy. Outside of work, he is an avid sports fan (Tottenham Hotspur, Vancouver Canucks), and enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with his wife and dogs.
